Headers and Footers can be used to ensure consistency across emails. Use them to insert standardized and reusable content, such as branding or legal text, into your messages. Headers are inserted at the beginning of your emails. Footers are inserted at the end.
Headers & Footers in Paste HTML Emails
Creating a Header
- Click on Headers & Footers under Content in the Email section of the Content Creation menu.
- Enter the Header name in the Create New Header/Footer field.
- Select Header as the Content Type.
- Click Create.
- Click the Continue button in the properties step to create your content.
- Create your Header.
- Click Save.
Properties
The table below lists the Header configuration properties with their descriptions
Name | This is the name of the Header. The header name is what you and other users see in your Headers & Footers folder. |
Folder Location | This field shows the folder in which the header is stored. To change the folder the header is stored in, click the Select Folder button and choose a different folder. |
Distribute to Subclients |
Use this feature to allow your other accounts to utilize the template you have created. This is only available if your account is provisioned with subclients and this feature is enabled. Contact iPost Client Services if you would like this feature enabled. |
Content
You can create HTML code directly in the application or drag and drop your HTML file into the workspace.
Click Source in the tools ribbon to exit Source mode. Doing this will take you to a WYSIWYG editor. The application will generate the HTML code while you design within the WYSIWYG editor.
Click Save when you have completed your work.
Footers
Footers are inserted at the bottom of your email. Footers are optional.
All emails must include your company name, client address, and an unsubscribe link. If the following iTL Macros are missing from your email, the Default Footer will appear in preview, as well as, in tests and live sends.
These items are required to ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM regulations:
