MD5 Suppression Lists are a specific type of suppression list that converts uploaded email addresses to a MD5 hash upon upload. The MD5 Suppression List functionality is case sensitive as it preserves upper/lower case letters in the email address when they are hashed. As a result, it will only suppress email addresses from the sending list if the case of the email addresses match.

Uploading Data to a MD5 Suppression List
MD5 Suppression list data files should contain either the hashed email address or the actual email address of the contacts to be suppressed. If email addresses are uploaded, the system will automatically hash upon upload. A header is not required. To upload data to a MD5 Suppression list, please follow these steps:
- Access the properties page of your MD5 Suppression list.
- Click on the Upload File button.
- Click on the Select File box in order to search and select your file.
- Click on Upload to upload your file.
Once the file has been uploaded, the Total Member count will be updated.
Hashed values and email addresses should not be commingled in the data being uploaded into the MD5 Suppression List. If both types of data are present, please split the data into two data files.
